Project overview
This site stands on one half of Robin Hood Gardens, which previously had been a renowned example of brutalist architecture. As pat of a 1500 home local regeneration this site provides 300 new apartments.
After the site had remained idle for 2 years, Curryhills were asked to provide enabling works which included,
- cleaning and clearing the site,
- adjustments to the insitu frame to allow for pre-cast panels,
- drainage and service investigation,
- removal of a 3 storey concrete " goal post" and demolition of an embedded sub-station.
- works completed with remote controlled demolition apparatus and remote monitoring of the existing 8 storey frame for movement.
- Completion of the insitu frame to replace the goal post
Once external panels had been fitted the external works commenced requiring ;
- 600 lm of 1.20m to 2.40m of fair faced finished concrete planter walls
- drainage diversions and connections
- 2500m2 of Natratex paving on adoptable standard sub-base
- 1000m2 of clay and granite paving
- 800m3 of topsoil and subsoil in planters and swales
